BEAD JEWELRY

We primarily use Czech beads, just like the originals
brought by European traders. We also use Trade Beads, Stone Cabachons and beads, Italian, French Old-time colors (such as Greasy Yellow, Sioux Green, etc.), Brass, sterling silver, nickel and copper. All larger pieces such as hairkeepers, pendants , barretts and bracelets are leather backed.

We strive to duplicate old-time patterns ,techniques and materials.

Our beadwork is washable in mild dish detergent if it becomes dusty or soiled. Always dry on a flat surface. Beadwork should always be stored hanging up, never throw it into a drawer. Quills, some stones and shells are easily damaged.

We reserve the righ to substitute items of like quality and design.

This Necklace is a museum replica attributed to the Central Sierra MeWuk.
The original was on display for several years at the Nevada State Museum.
Shades of Turquoise, green, amethyst and purple blend together beautifully with the abalone drops. The light color of the porcupine quills accentuate the darker colors and add a unique authenticity to the piece.

We have duplicated the original very carefully, basically using the same materials. There are seven strands of beads, porcupine quills and abalone drops. The beads are antique Czech, Italian and German. An old-style soft buckskin back neckband makes for extreme comfort. The necklace is approximately 26" long.

This exceptional Plains Style pendant is sewn with Czech opaque matte beads and five turquoise stones. Dangles are nickel and tin with buckskin fringe.
