ALLEN KNOWS HIS GUN

CROW

Allen Knows His Gun is a fine artist who uses oil/acrylic paint to express his vision of Native culture. He was born in 1978 and currently resides in Billings, Montana. His work reflects his Crow Native American heritage and his careful research is evident with his authentic portrayal of period clothing, equipment and scenery.

Allen's creativity is spontaneous. He likes to capture the imagination of the viewer in an emotionally eye-catching way. "I try to take the viewer back to how the warrior was. I try to make the art as piercing as possible. Always in the back of my mind is that I want the painting to be unforgettable."
Allen was introduced to the art world as a child. he had attended art shows and was influenced by his father's art. "My dad's an artist and I guess it was just inevitable that I would do it. When I was younger, I had no intention of being an artist. I wanted to be a veterinarian. My sister and all my brothers  are artists. My older brother is a very talented artist. He was my idol and any kind of art he did, I always tried to follow."

Rabbit Knows Gun, Allen's father, stated that "I personally feel, after having been exposed to the art world for a least 25 years, that Allen's work is truly refreshing, emotionally super-charged and definitely overwhelming but pleasing for the visual observer."

In November 2003, Allen received Best of Show honors at the Cultural Arts Festival in Billings, Montana. In 2007 his work was accepted at the C.M. Russel Auction and the Heard Museum Indian Arts and Crafts Show.

Limited edition signed giclee prints are available on canvas or archival quality paper at the same price (most prints).  Prints smaller than 8X10 are open edition prints (not limited in number), however they will be signed by Allen.

Canvas prints may be stretched, appearing like an original, or matted.  Paper prints can only be matted.

Canvas prints are not as sharp as paper prints due to the texture in the canvas.

Giclee prints may last up to 100 years on paper or canvas if protected from Ultra Violet light.

Prints are priced by the square inch not matted or stretched.

Dimensions are image size.

We are making a change in our print policy to create a more affordable purchase option for those who would like one of Allen's prints.  We are offering an 8X10” (or as close as we can without distorting the composition) print which will be top matted on a black 11X14” mat for the low price of $50.00.  We also offer a mat color choice for an additional $5.00.
